Hands down, no questions asked, YES.
Think about what you're doing on the computer at this moment.
Reading this blog, checking your email, facebook, myspace, tweeting and youtubing while taking side glances at your phone to see if you've missed a call or received a text message.
It's hard to ignore when the majority of people turn to the web for almost everything, people are finding life partners on internet dating sites and watching movies and TV shows on iPods. The revolution is inevitable.
I wholeheartedly believe my choice to major in Convergence (multimedia) journalism was the smartest thing I could do once I was accepted into Mizzou's Journalism school. I respect and appreciate classic media outlets, but the world is evolving and so is the media and the way society gets their news and information. It's not a bad change, it's simply a change. I do find it unfortunate that newspapers all around continue to struggle and shut down, but eventually everyone will get caught up and make the necessary changes to survive. We're in the 21st century and I know for a fact I'll be one of those old people who swear by their iPod and current cell phone when some other new technology comes out and yet again revolutionizes the way we live our lives.
This video will blow you away. Try to keep up.
